Keel Laying Hakvoort Project Adur

Friday, December 21, 2018

‘It’s an early Christmas with a wooden crib carrying the keel of Project Adur /YN 252 on Friday December 14th.

The official start of the yacht’s construction was marked that day by the keel laying ceremony, celebrated and blessed with a traditional touch of personally selected coins for good luck.

Gathered around the crib were the Owners, accompanied by their representative Peter Hürzeler of Ocean Independence, Klaas and Albert Hakvoort of Hakvoort Shipyard, Frank Laupman on behalf of Omega Architects and Gerko Schippers on behalf of Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Plus the welding experts of Alubouw Friesland, Hakvoort’s subcontractor for building hull and superstructure.

Together with a highly involved owner, Omega Architects designed both the sleek contemporary exterior and welcoming bright interior of this stunning 45,2m family superyacht, which is to be delivered in Spring 2021.

Among the special features are a flush stern, the innovative Fast Displacement Hull with Hull Vane®, aft and forward tender garage with submarine storage, scooped bulwarks for views to the surroundingsand hybrid propulsion for dolphin friendly silent mode.

Performance and sea keeping qualities are guaranteed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.
