Scout - Description

SCOUT has been delivered in 2019 and measures 63.72-metres with a beam of 11.6 metres and a draft of 3.36 metres. She features interior and exterior design by Jonny Horsfield and his team at the British design studio, H2 Yacht Design with Diana Yacht Design responsible for her naval architecture.

SCOUT is the largest yacht in the Hakvoort fleet. Built for an experienced owner who was inspired by the iconic 1950s movie, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the yard, owner’s team and designers closely collaborated on every aspect of her exterior and interior design. The result is a unique, Dutch-built superyacht, with a strong vintage maritime aesthetic that stays authentic to the owner’s vision.

“The client was closely involved throughout the whole process and had a very clear idea of what aesthetic he was looking for both inside and out,” states Jonny Horsfield, Founder of H2 Yacht Design in London. “The overall interior aesthetic can best be described as Jules Verne meets Ian Fleming meets Fritz Lang. We were inspired by the underwater world, sea creatures, and this industrial, nautical design philosophy - with a hint of a Bond villain’s lair.”

In addition to a dedicated owner’s deck, SCOUT accommodates eight guests across four staterooms on the main deck, each designed with a specific nautical theme. Crew accommodation is found on the lower deck and includes two staff cabins and nine crew cabins. The captain's cabin is situated on the bridge deck.

Exterior design details such as SCOUT’s high bow, exposed tenders in the bow with cut-down bulwarks and integrated forward-sloping windows embody the trawler-aesthetic of her design. Amongst some of SCOUT’s notable features include a helideck as well as an expansive sun deck complete with large Jacuzzi and unobstructed views fore and aft.

Powered by twin CATERPILLAR 3512C diesel engines, SCOUT has a cruising speed of 12.5 knots and a maximum speed of 14.8 knots. Combined with easy technical accessibility, minimum maintenance requirements and an Ice Class hull, an autonomous range of 4,800 nm at 12 knots ensures that she is capable of living up to her ocean-going credentials.
